Year 10 Entry 2012

Applications are now being received for entry to Year 10 to commence GCSE courses in September 2012. Admission is by interview and examination.

Radnor House offers the advantage of teaching and learning in small class sizes, often in single or low double figures, ensuring a personalised approach within a caring and structured environment delivered by highly qualified and achieving teachers (visit ‘Meet the Team’ on our website for full staff information). We aim to ensure our students are stretched and given the opportunity to achieve GCSE grades at the highest level to prepare them for the challenges of A-Level study in 2014.

The academic curriculum is complemented by a co-curricular programme offering over 50 activities including a wide range of Sport, Music and Drama as well as Rowing, The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, Creative Art and Dance to name but a few.

All students follow a core curriculum leading to GCSEs in:

    English Language
    English Literature
    Mathematics
    Biology
    Chemistry
    Physics

In addition, students choose one Modern Foreign Language from:

          French
          Spanish
Finally, students choose three additional subjects of their own choice from the following:

            Art & Design
            Business Studies and Economics
            Drama
            Geography
            History
            Latin
            Music
            Physical Education

This means all our students in Years 10 and 11 study 10 GCSEs, although there is scope to supplement this list with additional courses through consultation with the Head. The full Options Booklet can be downloaded here.

The Sixth Form is due to open in September 2014 and every child at Radnor House has a guaranteed transfer to the Sixth Form without having to sit additional exams or worry about entrance criteria.
