Houses & Pastoral Life

Pastoral

Emphasis is placed on courtesy, care for others, good manners and self discipline with positive steps being taken to ensure good conduct. We work closely with parents and will inform them of any concerns we have about their child’s progress or behaviour. Great emphasis is placed on co-operation which is so essential between home and school in the development of young people. We will celebrate the achievement of every individual and believe that children and young adults thrive with sensitive but firm and structured guidance.

Good behaviour, polite manners, consideration for others and hard work are the hallmarks of a Radnor House student. Please refer to the prospectus for our behaviour policy.

The Houses

On entry to Radnor House, students are placed into one of four Houses named after literary figures with connections to Pope’s original mansion located on our site. The Houses offer our students the opportunity to thrive through competition in the Arts, sport and all round achievement. House identity is encouraged and fostered throughout the school. Each House is led by a House Master/Mistress whose role it is to celebrate the uniqueness of every student and motivate them to do their very best personally, for their House and school as they compete for the Albion Trophy presented annually to the winning House.

The House Masters/Mistresses for the 2011/12 academic year are:

  • Pope - David Paton
    Voltaire - Patrick Crossley
    Swift - Thomas Doran
    Parnell - Eliza King
